1939 Scarecrow Doll mad by Ideal Co.
1939 Wizard of Oz Scarecrow doll made by Ideal. 17" high from feet to top of head (not including hat). the doll is in played with, good condition. The only major flaw (if you call it that) is a small hole in his face below his mouth (see picture). He is overall gently worn, with slight fading of his pink trousers. He is missing some of the yellow yarn from around his hands, feet, and top of hat that represent his straw stuffing. His eyes and face are slightly worn and soiled, but nothing major (Please look at pictures). This would be an outstanding, hard to find doll for any Wizard of Oz collector.

A New Wonderland - Frank Baum 1st editiion, A binding (c.1900). Sold 7/1/2013
This is actually the FIRST CHILDREN'S BOOK WRITTEN BY BAUM (although Mother Goose In Prose reached publication before A New Wonderland, this was written earlier and delayed in publication). This is a marvelous fantasy taking place in Phunnyland inhabited by Princes Zingle and Fiddlecumdoo, Timtom and the Princesses Truella and Pattycake. Illustrated by FRANK VER BECK with pictorial endpapers, 16 2-color plates including title, plus numerous black and whites. This title, which was an obvious attempt to cash in on the popularity of Alice In Wonderland, was drastically reworked and later published as The Surprising Adventures of the Magical Monarch of Mo. A notoriously rare Baum fantasy, that when found is usually lacking the frontis.

This copy is also missing frontis. This book should have 190 pages. But this copy is have 188 pages including color plates. Missing one text page and rear end free illustrated end paper. Condition: Fair. 1st state, A binding Complete copies if found usually sells for over $7000.

This title, which was an obvious attempt to cash in on the popularity of Alice In Wonderland, was drastically reworked and later published as The Surprising Adventures of the Magical Monarch of Mo. A notoriously rare Baum fantasy, that when found is usually lacking the frontis. The plates, though unnumbered, are included in the pagination. Justin Schiller once had a file copy from the publisher that was annotated to indicate that the firm had run short of frontispieces.

This copy is also missing frontis. This book have all pages including color plates. This is a variant "B" binding what is quite rare. At the time of listing I could not locate any other "B" binding available online. Condition: Very Good-. Complete copies if found usually sells for over $7000.
